Our best wallet yet
Designed to be as slim as possible.
We skive the edges of the leather to keep the edges of your wallet thin. We split the leather to remove the thick back side of the leather that you don’t see. These techniques keep your wallet thin yet strong.

So many parts inside a wallet so thin.
Quality comes from the Pattern.
To make your AH001 wallet we create a master pattern, a making pattern and a cutting pattern. The pattern is made from 20 pieces of thick 1230 G/m2 card. This gives it strength. We lay the pattern on the leather and cut around it to get the size of the leather pieces used to make the wallet. These leather pieces are then sewn together to make the wallet. An accurate pattern is essential to create a high quality wallet.
Fine Italian leather & soft red suede.
The leather hides are examined by Alan Hayden himself. Only the finest Italian leather is selected for your AH001 wallet.
Quality comes from the Tech Pack.
It’s a visual representation of the AH001 wallet and is made up of 8 pages. It gives the dimensions, quality and finish of the wallet. It shows what the wallet should and shouldn’t look like. The Tech Pack is used to create the Pattern. A detailed Tech Pack is key to achieving a high quality wallet.
Authentic Security Code.
Inside your AH001 wallet a security code tells us the date and location it was made, and the name of the artisan who made it. This is recorded in our database. This proves your wallet is authentic.
Our unique leather inlay houses our logo discreetly.
Alan Hayden developed a special new technique to put our logo on a leather inlay discreetly inside the AH001 wallet. A rectangle is cut out of the suede and the leather. We place the leather rectangle inside the rectangle hole in the suede to create the inlay. We created special knives to cut the rectangles to make them fit perfectly. The logo is stamped three times using 231/3 carat gold foil to achieve a high quality finish. The result is a discreetly placed logo in beautiful gold foil.
Bespoke metal knives cut the leather inlay.
We created special metal knives to cut perfectly square edges on the leather and suede, so they fit perfectly together to create a high quality flush finish. First we stabilise the suede to stop it stretching. Then we iron the leather and suede before cutting. We cut the leather using the knives in a clicking press. We use a bigger piece of suede than the knife. After cutting, the leather inlay and suede needs to be put back the right way up or it won’t fit together.
Your wallet is constructed on zinc templates.
The leather on the edges of the AH001 wallet is turned and placed onto zinc templates. It’s then trimmed carefully with a scalpel to give the straight edge of the turnovers. We use zinc because it doesn’t blunt the scalpel as much as other metals, so the scalpel cuts beautiful sharp lines for longer.
The edges of the leather card pockets are scored.
Each pocket for the cards is made from a separate piece of leather. The edge of the leather are turned and hammered down. To score we use a creasing iron. First we heat the iron and then we crease a long line. The heat helps to bond the leather and gives it extra hold. The crease creates a sharp finishing line that draws your eye to the sharpened line rather than the edge.
Personalise / Monogram.
Adding your name or initials makes your AH001 wallet personalised and unique. Great for special gifts.
Quality in Millimeters of detail.
Alan Hayden increased the height of the wallet by 2 millimeters to achieve a high quality finish on the top stitching.
